Little Waitrose - Winchmore Hill

Welcome to Little Waitrose - Winchmore Hill, a quaint little supermarket nestled at 889 Green Lanes, London. While it may be overshadowed by larger retail giants, Little Waitrose strives to offer its local community a unique shopping experience. With a focus on quality and convenience, this branch caters to a diverse array of customers looking for everyday necessities.

Upon entering, you’re greeted by an inviting atmosphere filled with the aroma of fresh bakery goods. The bakery section features delightful options like the Waitrose & Partners Blueberry Pancakes and Chocolate Cake, perfect for any sweet tooth. Additionally, you can find their Essential White and Hot Cross Buns sure to brighten up your breakfast.

When it comes to fresh produce, Little Waitrose showcases a selection of vibrant fruits and vegetables. One standout is the Waitrose & Partners Cooks' Ingredients Mixed Thai Chillies, priced at just £1.2—ideal for adding zest to your dishes. The meticulous sourcing of these products underlines their commitment to quality, although some reviews have raised concerns about variability in stock and freshness.

Meat and fish lovers will also find a commendable selection. The Wild Keta Salmon Fillets at £6.9 and British Native Breed Beef Mince offer an assortment of meal possibilities, from a wholesome dinner to gourmet weekend feasts.

In terms of convenience, the food-to-go section is perfect for those with a busy lifestyle. Items such as the Essential Waitrose & Partners Cheese & Onion on Malted Bread Sandwich and Waitrose & Partners Macaroni Cheese provide quick yet satisfying meals without compromising on quality.

However, it’s important to note that while the supermarket champions quality, it has faced criticism from customers regarding stock availability and pricing. There’s a sentiment that while some items may be premium, others remain costly relative to competitors. Below are some customer insights:

  • Ida Ta expresses disappointment over the condition of produce received, raising concerns about quality control.
  • Markinbarnet1 reports a lack of stock and higher prices compared to rival stores, calling into question the value offered.
  • Kenneth Liu shares frustrations about parking fines, illustrating a broader issue of customer service experience.

In conclusion, while Little Waitrose - Winchmore Hill provides an inviting ambiance and a range of quality products, prospective shoppers should be prepared for potential inconsistencies. Whether you’re dropping in for a loaf of bread or a ready-made meal, each visit holds the promise of convenience, albeit with a few caveats. Your experience might vary, but isn’t that the thrill of each shopping trip?

I was shocked to find that the tomatoes I ordered on delivero - were in an unsatisfactory and unsafe condition, completely unfit for consumption. This is not only disappointing as a customer but also raises significant questions about the quality control measures implemented by your company and your partners they said they won’t take actions for it. Providing spoiled or mouldy food is not just a breach of trust but also a potential health hazard.I take food safety very seriously and feel it is my responsibility to ensure that such incidents are properly investigated. As a result, I intend to escalate this matter to Environmental Health and Safety to verify how such items were approved for delivery to customers.

Very little stock, didn't have most items on my list. What they did have was very expensive compared to other shops. Also the 'fresh' produce is the worst quality of any shop or supermarket Ive visited, but is the most expensive! It was the same story when I last visited this branch years ago. Will not waste my time with this branch in the future.

Absolutely awful experience parking here. It’s a free hour indeed but you go over by minute, even if to grab a quick coffee next door and come back you’ll be fined £. The store manager clearly could have exempted it as a lesson learnt but chose to say it’s my own fault - fair enough, I won’t be coming back since Sainsbury’s is just down the road
